Southfield is an operator at the City of Fallon’s wastewater treatment and water plants, who has worked at the City of Fallon since 1998. He is a long-time Fallon resident and former dairy farmer.

“He is hardworking, dependable and reliable,” said Jim Souba, the City of Fallon Engineer. “He is the type of guy where there is never any argument. He just gets the job done.”

Souba said that Southfield shows up early for every shift and makes the wastewater treatment plant run smoothly.

Southfield said that he enjoys the working environment and camaraderie of working at the City of Fallon.
“There are four guys that I work with, and they all do a good job,” said Southfield. “It is definitely a team effort. We don’t work solo.”

Jardine is a patrol officer with the Fallon Police Department and the department’s lead Taser trainer.

A native Nevadan, Jardine worked with tribal police in Ely and Fallon and at the Lovelock Police Department before joining the Fallon police force six years ago.

“I enjoy serving people,” said Jardine. “I love going out and interacting with people.”

Jardine’s six years on patrol in Fallon makes him a familiar face to many locals, and a valuable asset to the department.

“We know a lot of the people in the community on a first-name basis,” said Jardine. “I am not a new guy showing up on a call.”

Fallon Police Captain Frank Shyne said Jardine is a hard worker who can always be trusted to get his job done. He even fills in as an acting supervisor when needed.

If that is not proof enough of Jardine’s dedication to the department, here’s another example: He’s taken a Taser to the chest as part of his training as lead instructor for the department.

A Churchill County native, Allen Dodson is one of the City of Fallon’s longest tenured employees, with nearly 25 years of service in the city’s water department.

“Dedicated, loyal, outgoing and meticulous, Dodson has always been available to work special events and takes on extra tasks willingly,” said Ryan Swirczek, public works superintendent for the City of Fallon. “He is always here when we need him. He’s happy to take on extra duties that don’t necessarily fall under his job description,” said Swirczek.

Dodson’s more than two decades with the city gives him a deep knowledge of the city’s water operations, which is reflected in the high quality of his work.

Kathy has worked as a dispatcher at the Fallon Police Department since 2006. Before becoming a dispatcher, Kathy spent 25 years in law enforcement in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a master chief.

Kathy said she loves the fact that her job presents different challenges every day, and noted that her ability to multi-task has helped her excel at her position in the department.

Rogne grew up in Fallon, joined the U.S. Army and served in the armed forces for more than five years, including a year-long deployment in Iraq. Following his military service, Rogne moved back to Fallon and joined the City of Fallon as a park maintenance employee, where he has worked since 2008.

Rogne works on all parks across the city, cleaning graffiti from walls, maintaining the grounds, and repairing equipment and facilities.

“I love the people,” said Rogne, “and I like doing something for the community.”
