January 2012
As of October 1, 2011, law officers in Nevada have been stopping and warning motorists who are texting or using handheld cell phones. The new law became effective on January 1, 2012. Nevada has banned handheld cell phone use and text messaging for all drivers. Enforcement is primary, meaning drivers can be stopped and cited for that reason alone. Fines start at $50 – 1st offense, $100 – 2nd offense, and $250 for a 3rd offense. Hands-free Bluetooth technology is permissible and encouraged.
The Fallon Police Department has designated Saturday, October 29th from 6-8 p.m., as the official trick-or-treating times.
