A new restaurant serving Greek, Mediterranean and continental cuisines opened up in Fallon this fall, and is already looking to expand.
66 Center Bistro, owned by Michael Meginness and run by Chef Tasso Mara, serves up affordable lunches and bold dinner dishes at 66 W. Center St. in downtown Fallon.
Whether you prefer Moussaka, rack of lamb or Filet Mignon tips, Mara has built a unique menu that ranges from traditional Greek dishes and French specialties to classic American fare.
Mara relies on his three decades of experience in the restaurant industry — including stints at Carmel’s Quail Lodge, Sheraton Hotels and Fallon’s Slanted Porch — to build 66 Center Bistro’s diverse and flavorful offerings.
The dinner plates are complimented by affordable lunch items, such as $5 Gyro sandwiches, and specials like the restaurant’s popular Sunday Champagne brunch.
Mara opened the restaurant in late September, just as the Northern Nevada growing season was waning. But he is using local meats in his dishes, and plans to expand his use of local produce this spring and summer.
He also plans to expand the dining room into the neighboring units in the building soon.
