Fallon City Band 2008

Written March 19th, 2009

Fallon hadn’t had a city band since its early days, in about 1909, but that changed in 2008. As part of the City’s year-long Centennial celebration, two local junior high school music instructors, Tom Fleming and Lucas Koenig, recruited musicians from the community to create the Fallon City Band. About 40 people, whose ages range from 17 to 60, make up the group.

This wind ensemble – a band featuring woodwind, brass and percussion instruments – debuted in August 2008, performing its first gig on the new Centennial Stage in Oats Park.
