Police Department
If positions are available, open jobs in the Police Department are posted online at the current job postings page. Advertisements also run in the Lahontan Valley News’ Classified Ads section and on the Reno Gazette-Journal’s Web site (www.rgj.com).
Job notices include a position title, salary range, minimum eligibility requirements and an application deadline.
To obtain an application, download it here, pick one up at City Hall or ask for one to be mailed to you. Once it’s filled out, either mail or hand deliver it to the Police Department. Part of the application requires a notary’s witness and stamp, which can be done at the Fallon Police Department or elsewhere.
When a job is available, qualified applicants are called in for testing or an interview—whichever applies to the particular work opportunity.
