Biography of Michael "Mike" F. Mackedon

One of the first public defenders in Northern Nevada, Mike has practiced general law since 1967. He and his partners at Mackedon, McCormick & King serve as counsel for the City of Fallon.

Born and raised here, Mike left town only to attend Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, for a year and Georgetown University's Law School, with a stint in between at the University of Nevada, Reno, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in political science.

Fallon was where he wanted to live and rear his children—all four of them, three sons and one daughter. His middle son, Leonard E. Mackedon (affectionately called "Lem"), now practices law with him.

Once an avid bird hunter, these days he takes pleasure in reading (primarily philosophy and political theory books), maintaining his personal library and vegetable gardening.
