Biography of Gary G. Cordes

After working as a certified public accountant at a large Winnemucca firm for seven years, Gary sought a change, a career "refocusing." That desire resulted in his appointment as Fallon's City Clerk and Treasurer in 1989, a position he describes as "extremely interesting and rewarding."

Prior to moving to Winnemucca, he spent his childhood in Boise, his birthplace. He attended college there, too, at Boise State University, where he earned a degree in accounting.

In his spare time, he "hangs out" with his wife and three children (twin boys and a girl). The latter are quite active in sports and other activities—Gary likes helping them with those. His favorite sports are hunting and fishing.
