Councilman James Richardson
James is one of Fallon's newest council representatives, but public service is a Richardson family tradition. Young James and his family moved to Fallon in 1985 when his father was assigned U.S. Navy duty at NAS Fallon. The family settled in Fallon and today considers it home, remaining long after James' father retired with 30 years of active military service.
After graduating from Churchill County High School in 1987, James attended the University of Nevada-Reno. In 1992 he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Psychology that prepared him for his criminal justice career. He began as a case manager at the Yerington Rite of Passage Program for juvenile offenders. In 1997 he joined the Nevada Department of Public Safety, Parole and Probation Division, where today he serves as supervisor of the Fallon office.
James met his wife Tami (Pirkle) in high school and their relationship continued through college. Tami is the deputy chief for the Churchill County Juvenile Probation program. Married since 1994, the couple has two sons, Connor and Brock, who attend West End Elementary School. The Richardsons are an active Fallon family that enjoys boating, camping and youth sports.
