The I.H. Kent Co on Maine Street, c. 1905.

In the Roaring Twenties, the most visible sign of post war prosperity in the community was the change in the face of Fallon's Maine Street. The June 24, 1920, newspaper noted that the following businesses were being built or remodeled on Fallon's main drag: I.H. Kent Company (an expansion) , Frazzini Furniture Company, Harvey Kolhoss grocery store, Gray, Reid and Company (an expansion) and the J.W. Flood theater.

After sustaining some damage in the 1954 earthquake, the I.H. Kent store received a facelift when tiles were added to the front facade. Today, little can be seen of the original stone face of the building.
