With the advent of Ford's Model T in the 1920s, cars were becoming increasingly common. By 1929, over forty companies (including Buick, Chrysler and Dodge) were manufacturing cars. No matter that Fallon's pioneer roots lay in the recent past; that didn't stop residents, such as C.L. Bendaum, from joining the mechanics craze.
